Still looking for an irish cob to produce as a show cob...One of my owners wants a novice cob for next year (as per prev post) put ads everywhere, trawlled every uk based search site and nothing.. They are either already produced or wrong height breed sex etc...

Am I being really daft are there any Irish search sites... you know like Horsemart ireland... or any good yards in Ireland that have websites.... The guy I usually use out there has nothing in as he has been ill...I will never take him for granted again lol..

have you looked at theirishhorse.co.uk
have had some friends who have had horses from him and they are very good quality. sure he would keep his eyes open for you if you tell him what you are after

Yep thank you I sent an email over... Have done with a few yards over here... I think cause of the age I am looking for (3-8) is limiting me.....

TY blondy yes I have he has some stunning horses through his yard have seen quite a few.. I had a long chat with him a while ago and he hasn't got any in at moment but they are exactly the type I am after....

Are you specificlly looking in Ireland or just anywhere?

Just had a look to see if Judi (Thurloe) had anything going

http://www.judithurloesportshorses.co.uk/ForSale_1.html

She doesn't seem to on the online pics (although Guinness looks a nice sort for me!) and she generally has more in than on the site, and quite often has some nice show cobs so may be worth a call in case she does come across any though.

She did have a stunning one a while back - chestnut and white mare who was bought by someone very much in the showing world (I only know this cos it then turned up for me to insure!).

I finally found one, a 154cm hw showcob 5yrs old. Had to pay through the nose for him, and he wasnt even advertised. During my time looking i realised what some people call a showcob i wouldn't bless it with the name "show" they are either common in head or have fat fetlocks (nicknamed cankles)
I came to the conclusion they just dont breed them, however if your not looking for a hoys contestant then horsequest has some decent cobs on at the moment.

Just realised how patronising that sounded, there are some lovely looking horses on quest at the moment. I havent viewed any myself but i know someone who viewed knightsbridge and she liked him he just had a little thng where he had to be let out on the lunge before getting on to let off a little steam

Sadly a HOYS contender is exactly what she is looking for lol and hens teeth come to mind... Hunters are so much easier totrack down with a good eye for them... sod it I'm ging into brreding them lol

i have hust pm'd you re irish horse as only saw top post- reid is very helpful and will be honest if your friend is after hens teeth although i prefer the phrase unicorn poo

good luck tho!!!

In that case, i send you all the luck in the world - as the word is out at the minute that i was looking if anything else crops up i'll let you know. Mine came from a judge who didnt really want to sell but its the life she wants for it so she let me have it. I wasnt even sure of it myself thought his head rahter plain and common but his limbs and movement are phenomenal.
Lets hope judges think so next year - otherwise i just bought myself a lovely happy hacker

Gosh I do feel like the luckiest girl alive with my gorgeous stunning Irish Draught who loves showing and the shows love him. I am so so proud to have found him, keep it up, it took me ages and ages to find the right boy who is now ridden by all and sundry as he is such gentle soul xx
