A friend of a friend set out to buy a horsebox

I have never met said friend of a friend and they live miles away

They had a decent budget and reported back to my friend that they had secured a good quality classy box of the sort that is super shiny and posh

My friend made the requisite 'oooooo lucky you' noises required when someone makes a good horsey purchase and asked for a picture

The friend of a friend went away and googled 'old manky rusty horsebox' or somesuch other delightful wording

The perused the offerings from Google images and chose the worst rusty specimen they could find

Sent it to my friend as a joke

It was my horsebox

Was it this one per chance? If so I don't see the problem, looks like a sweet ride  Why the shame?!

We recently bought a 3.5 lorry. It doesn't look anything special. Few rusty patches and dents here and there. But we're fixing it up slowly.
I was a bit worried what people would think about our little rust bucket. Then I went to a show and actually looked around the lorry park. Lets just say I soon felt better :D

There is something about having the freedom of transport that makes horsey people cling to vehicles long after others would have sent them to the scrapyard I think lol

I always gravitate toward people with the scruffy horseboxes at shows as I have a scruffy trailer - you're my tribe WelshD!

It does make me smile - horse shows are a bit like some sort of vintage lorry convention! My old heap of a lorry was a K reg daf 400. Still going strong at nearly 200,000 miles. I only sold her last year because we wanted a bit more luxury as we've been going further afield (and I did struggle with the lack of power steering!).

"What a box/trailer looks like is irrelevant, it's what comes out of it that counts."

That's the mantra of my YO who has a stunning, winner of many championships, riding/veteran show horse and a tatty, but faithful old Daf lorry.

That said, I did laugh out loud when I read this post OP!
