I feel so silly looking back on it, but this morning going to feed the girls I burst into tears at the sight of my horse. For the first time since January she was galloping around the field looking really happy. And for the first time ever (well, since I got her in June '06) she was galloping about on the left lead. She always had an issue with left canter and I'm pretty sure it was because she was uncomfortable having torn her tendon previously. Then she tore it again (properly) in February and hasn't been right since. This morning she looked fantastic, and she's *whispers* sound!!! on the hard ground!
That was the best Christmas present I could have had, to see my horse happy and healthy at last

Isn't it funny how she doesn't even know it's Christmas but has given me the best present ever!
Sorry, a bit self-indulgent but I HAD to share, I am SO pleased!

I did the same a few weeks ago when I saw my little shetland who'd been lame for so long suddenly tank off up the field (although she isn't allowed grass). I stood there in tears! Its just such a nice thing to see when you've worried about them for so long!

Hey its not a small thing, it means something to you. I balled my heart out when my mares foaled, i cried when i took mae over her first jump, even riding her for the first time when i got her had me in tears lol.

See they have a sly hold over us lol

Its not silly. I watching my boy canter gallop around the field. It always brings tears to my eyes. I saw him a perfect walk to canter transition in the field yesterday, and on to his left leg, which we usually have probs with in the school.
