the smallest horse you have ever evented???

my 137cms, welsh sec c, built like a cow ponio millie did PC Intermediate ODEs, around BE tracks, which is effectively PN. I'd have loved to have BE'd her, she was a superstar, but she was just too small to register. She has even schooled round the novice fences at tweseldown

I'm also planning on Affiliating my pure bred arab!!! (in my sig!!!)

he's only been jumping for just under a year and he has one amazing jump!!! He's won a local puissance clearing 1.30m wall!!! At his second ever sjing comp!!!

I bought him to show and he is one fantastic show horse hoping for HOYS quals in a year or so (as it was only his first season in 09) placed in every show entered including county level!!!

He's also pure egyptian arab which is even more unusual to have jumping... as it's usually the crabbit/old english lines even french and russian that are known to jump!!!

My 14.1hh is the best horse i've ever ridden xc, she is so small she is like a cat, and it doesn't matter how wrong she is for a fence she will just pick up for it!. She has an amazing jump for her size. I bought her from the meatman as she was about to go for meat, but she is so pretty I couldnt let it happen so she was somewhat of an impulse buy! I was told (and passport says) she is 15hh, but she always looked a bit smaller. I was a bit surprised when I measured her at 14.1hh

. She is definatly smaller than the FEI ponies. I got some funny looks at 1*'s especially CCI's. I took her to a lucinda Green clinic, and she asked if we would consider selling her after she had just jumped clear round a BE intermediate track in training. I said no!!!!

Here is another pic, just because I love her!!!!!

I evented a 14.2hh pony for an owner who wanted her sold as his child had outgrown her. She had been a super hunting pony, but they just wanted to get more competition mileage up on her and needed someone who could do the dressage bit.
She was an absolute superstar - took to the dressage very easily and flew round the jumps. I felt safer on her than many horses although she was effectively a horse than didn't grow - with horse strides.

Woooh! Plenty pop in him anyway! Looks like he loved his jumping! I know someone who competed a Shagya (spic?) Arab mare up to ***.

TalaveraII- yep, Burnham and Blackwater- both unaff. so there were some odd fences in there. The big skijump (curved one) at the bottom in the corner of the course was in the 3'9- with the back rail on! Poor Henry charged down the hill only to realise the fence hadn't been lowered as promised- poor Alice didn't know what to do so just kicked desperately!

I event a 15hh mare and she has done intermediate and 2 CCI*'s and has plenty of jump left at that level.

She is the bravest, smartest horse I've ridden cross country - I love riding her!

My friend Pony Trialled a 13'3 saying it was 14 hands!
My little one is just 14 hands and has one a pony fox hunter (1.10) And jumps 1.25 at home
He has also evented Novice BE - Want to do some 1*s if possible
smile.gif

I evented my 14.2 at two intro events this summer. The height was no issue - our biggest problem was we went too fast (hangs head in shame) and the dressage where the judge laughed at us and asked what an earth we were doing!!!

Littlegreymare, we also go too fast round intro....
Jess with the arab - wow, he is absolutely stunning! Mine is polish but not as 'araby' as yours!

thank you so much everyone for sharing all of your fab pictures and stories
smile.gif

I am very inspired!!!!

little horse in question has a hell of a jump, I also feel because she has the pony blood in her she is very smart and knows how to look after herself, I then know she'll look after me
smile.gif

I did pray she would grow a bit more (she's home bred) but it was not to be, however after reading all of your reports I think I have ended up with a good deal
grin.gif

i have a 15 hh.
shes won at intro and PN. SJed to novice, but i would never take her novice xc. She owes me nothing. she always gives it everything shes got!

xx

My mare is 15hands in her passport but is really only 14.2h and did Novice no problem
smile.gif
She was opinionated but great at fiddling to get us out of trouble when I got it wrong

I evented my 14.2 over pc intermediate and open tracks - he was winner of area intermediate eventing and dressage with me - and we have a very tough area!!
Intermediate is roughly between PN and N eventing wise - in our area anyways.
We did pc open tracks at tetrathlon as well.
He had a fantastic jump!
smile.gif

ours doesnt event but showjumps, hes 15hh and was on a gold medal winning nations cup team last year, he s so brave and careful, puts the bigger ones to shame, but i may be a little biased!!! we call him a porse, and we now have 3 porses all 14.3hh to 15hh. wouldnt want bigger ones, they all cope with distances fine

My Sec D just scrapes in at 14.2, and we did intro last year, he also loves to jump, he has jumpes 1.20 easily with a friend smaller than me.
If i can do my diet over thenext few months we will intro again and maybe PN towarss the end of the season.
He needs a smaller jockey really, but no one wants him!

My little horse is 15hh and events at PN. He makes the xc feel easy but isn't the fastest! I think he'd go Novice but I love him too much to give it a go. They are big solid fences for a little chunky chap!
