I love my Spanish horse

Finally got to take kirico to his first show of the year, just a little warm up where they hold the new forest show but its nice and local for us and a nice easy one for only our second year out competing together.
After some initial, erm issues shall we say loading
the little bugger finally decided to play ball and off we went. Got to the showground with plenty of time thankfully, which gave me enough time to find where the right ring was, get my number etc and kirico enough time to flirt with everything on legs! Off to the first class, the inhand world breeds which is open to everything and anything with a trace of arab it would seem, and im not even sure the judge knew what an andalusian was let alone how to judge one. Anyway kirico was understandably on his toes being in a ring with lots of lovely arab fillies and didnt show himself to his best either as was going sideways or cantering most of the time. So we came away with a fairly dissapoinnting 6th place, but understandable as some of the ponies looked straight out of a HOYS class, and im not sure how you can judge an arab against a PRE anyway.
With that done time for a quick bit of lunch (which kirico helped himself to most of) and get ready for the ridden class. Was tbh expecting him to be a right prat so gave him a good lunge first and the a looong warm up which made us both look like we'd done a marathon as it was a flippin hot day. Went into the class and was still expecting the worst as he was being a fidget and after the first trot, canter round we got pulled in second last. Did our little individual show, nothing special but he went very sweetly with no misbehaving so got big pats and a massve sigh of relief from me (especially as theyd decided to hold the fancy dress class in the next ring, and there was a pony dressed like boy george walking round!) Anyway after a bit more walking round got moved up 3 places and pulled in 6th
def not our best placing but pretty good for 2 complete showing numpties in our first outing in 8 months!
Choc fudge brownie ben and jerrys if you get this far, so pleased with my little spanish pony and very grateful for totally unhorsey OH supporting me and taking lots of lovely pics, not got another show til july now so theyre both glad of the break i think
Some pics of our day, any cc or comment welcome
