I have 2 ridden tbs and 2 retired tbs all with monster withers! I have a prestige saddle for one but can't ATM afford another prestige! Can anyone recommend a good jump saddle for Big withers? That won't break bank until I save for another prestige! Thanks!
 
I jump my ridiculously-high-withered TB in a Thorowgood T6, it's the only saddle that I've managed to get to fit him!
 
How do you find it? Is it comfy? I love my saddle and hope to eventually get 2 of them plus a dressage saddle to share but need something cheapish for him now so they can go out together! Why oh why did I sell my other saddles!

I find it very comfy :) People are always surprised when I tell them it isn't real leather as it looks pretty smart!
 
With the thorowgood saddles, you can raise them higher off the withers if necessary, by using a gullet one size too big then narrowing it with the fish inserts, which will lengthen the point of tree raising the saddle up. It's what the saddler did for my friends horse.
 
I had a Thorowgood T4 (newest model) for my high wither tb. Had to put wide gullet in to stop it pinching his big shoulders then padded out wither area with prolite pad.....Im selling it if your interested ;)
 
Just remembered that I know of someone selling an english leather saddle that was made specially for high withers. It's a jump/gp style, 18" and I think medium or medium wide width.
 
It's havana brown. A few years old but has spent most if the time being stored due to horse being sold. Let me know if you're interested.
 
I have just found a jaguar saddle on eBay the xsj which looks very similar to my prestige and the lovely seller has said I can pay at end of the month :)
