Do horses go trough 'the terrible fours' as opposed to 'the terrible twos'??
My four year old seems to be going through something like that. He has all of a sudden developed an attitude and become much more highly strung than he ever has been and I can't put my finger in any other reason than he is being a naughty teenager and testing me and also just generally being full of beans! Will it just pass and he will mature and calm down a bit? Have any of you guys experienced this with your youngsters??

Yes I think they do! My 4 yr old suddenly became impossible to catch and would quite happily keep trotting round her field keeping out of reach for hours on end  Before the weather turned bad she started reverting to her old self and would happily be caught again and went back to being her old chilled out self

Oh no, one of mine turns 4 beginning of march and he's normally very chilled. He's 16.2hh already so hope he doesn't get an attitude

Mine has become very grumpy - has started experimenting with putting her ears back at me. When she doesn't get a repsonse though she goes back to being sweet... ! :)

Yep i have a 4 and a 5 year old being like that i keep threatening them with the glue factory there doing my head in cant catch my 5 year old he has to go out in a headcollar and wen u try to grab him he spins round and gallops off and out hacking he shies at everything and fights with me. Butlast summer he was a dope ona rope dunno whats changed him.

Mine was lovely at 3, same when he turned 4 and was horrid at 4 and a half rising 5 until 5 and a half. He's settled down now he's just gone 6 but has the odd daft moment.

Mine was lovely until after he turned five. Whilst he never does anything particularly bad, we definitely went through the "effin' fives" and I did wonder where my lovely sweet four year old went.

We have turned a corner in the last month or so, and whilst we go through the odd "don't want to so I'll go round with my head like a giraffe" stage, he's getting back to what he was like before. He's rising six :D
