The things I have learned.....

I went to see a horse advertised as the most sensible 5 yr old cob in the country. This sensible boy had never been phased and he literally didn't worry about anything. 2 1/2 hour drive to discover he'd never been phased by anything because he'd never done anything at all, barely backed with no ridden experience. Could barely pick his feet up. Good news though, they were prepared to negotiate the price down to £4500. The boy didn't know how to pick up his feet, no idea how the sellers imagined he was worth that price.

Also viewed another, "you could put your granny on this horse"... we arrived early to witness the dealer and his assistent desperatley trying to herd a large "maxi cob (beast)" into a corner. After more than half an hour they wrestled the "beast" into a stable. Granny's horse then tried his very best to wipe out both dealer and friend by crushing them against the wall and throwing teeth and legs at them at every opportunity. We'd been there about an hour when the dragged the tacked up beast out of the stable and announced that they had no facilities to ride so it was the main A road for a hack. A no thank you from me was not what the dealer was hoping for but the crazy granny eating beast wasn't what I was hoping for either ;)
