They couldn't possibly be hmm, GREY horses, could they?

Our bay roan is like a ruddy chameleon. The colour-changing horse is 'merely' a grey. They all do it to some extent! My goodness, have we run out of wars to talk about or something?

And anyway, aren't Lipizzaners born black?

'The famous Camargue horses, bred at Valley Farm Riding Centre in Wickham Market, are born black or brown to help the young foals absorb the sunlight. '

haha that really made me laugh, I never knew foals photosynthesised

what a load of old bunk.
I particularly liked
"things like Western riding and side saddle."
I felt it was bit like saying 'things like rugby league and tapestry...'
what are they on, these people?!

It really amazes me, what people will read and often believe, when it is written in the newspaper...

I loved the sunlight bit - WTF? It should have been green for photosynthesis, surely?

Well obviously they don't but dark colours will absorb the light energy which will be converted to heat and dark colours absorb light much better then light colours. Since many young animals do not have particularly good thermoregulation then it is probably an advantage to them to be able to absorb more heat energy.

im got an amazing magic roan, too
