This made me laugh so thought I'd share....

Decided to put one of my mares up for sale as I think she needs a one-on-one home and to be 'the princess', here she has her nose pushed out a bit. Have been talking on the phone and emailing a lady about this mare for a couple of weeks. She has had full geneology, passport details, photos, video and knew the history of the mare & situation as well as the price. She came a couple of days ago to view, horse was perfect and actually made me think 'why am I selling her?!', she's amazing. I'm seeling her for almost no money, I just want a good home for her.

She just called me to tell me that the transport alone will cost the same as the mare (it's true that transport here costs a lot, but it is also a reflection of how little I'm asking for the mare!) and also when she gets her (wait for it) she's going to have to pay for food, shoes, bedding etc so is not sure about it!

Just speechless to be honest! Why on earth does she think I would sell a horse to someone who can't affford to feed it? I Love Italy :D

I cant believe how horrible you are!!!
surely you are going to shoe her and pop round there every day to groom and tack her up for the buyer!!!! :-)

I know, I really need to re-think my customer service approach eh?

I remember my friend sold a horse last year and the guy called her when it arrived to complain that she had sent him 'a horse covered in flies'!! I was rolling laughing, imagining her glueing flies to the mare just to spite him :D

o/h throttling what a pasttime!
mine has just bought james bond for the x box... hes got that glazed expression and the stiff neck look. Im sitting with the living room curtains drawn listening to repetetive music and every time i look up i see a pair of hands with a gun in them. crap!

I had similar some years ago - someone came to look at a foal about September time. - I said £1000, they tried to knock down to £500 said no how about £900 they said if I kept him till the spring would I accept £600 as he would cost less as he would be older then !

Needless to say I didn't and he found a wonderful home some weeks after at the full price.

I feel your pain...mine's playing some other rubbish at the moment but it's the same, dark room, elevator music on a loop.

...sorry OP this has been de-railed a bit! Hope you find a nice home for your mare!

I have met a much worse timewaster than that. :p Luckily I had nothing to do with the horse in question and was told the tale by the timewaster herself (who really didn't understand what she did wrong  ).

Anyhoo...

Timewaster (TW) has a horse for sale. She tells her instructor that the horse is for sale for £££££ and does he know of anyone who would suit said horse. Instructor does know someone and arranges for a viewing.

At the viewing the prospective purchaser (pp) likes the horse and is happy with the price as long as the horse passes a 5* vetting.

TW says that she actually wants £££££ + ££££ for the horse. PP really liked the horse, so goes back to view again and agrees on the new price. Vetting is arranged.

TW then says that the horse is no longer for sale and PP cancels the vetting.

TW then phones PP and asks if they've found a horse because her horse is now available again. PP views again, still wants horse so books a vetting. TW rings up PP and isn't sure that she wants to sell after all. PP negotiates with TW and TW decides that she really is going to sell.

TW phones PP and cancells the vetting (so that's the second cancelled vetting  ) and then later that day rings PP back and says that she made a mistake and that the vetting should go ahead.

The day before the vetting PP ring TW and says that she is going to cancel the vetting and find another horse because she doesn't think that TW really wants to part with the horse.

TW told me the story herself and really didn't understand why PP cancelled the vetting, because she really was going to sell her that time! She also called PP a timewaster which I really thought was a bit rich.
