Methinks our local shelter has misclassified Gypsy by a mile

Yep can't see any pitbull there. It seems like most in there are American Pitbull X's a bit like here where homes are choca with Staffies. It such a shame, I see how spoilt my boy is and these poor souls don't even have a home. Roll on the day when only registered breeders can breed.

Looks like a collie to me!

They have loads of pit bull mixes there.

This is actually a tremendous organisation with very strict adoption policies, so the dogs often have several people vying for them--even the Pits.

The same cannot be said of the CACC, New York's high-kill shelter, which is 99% Pit Bull and offers a bleak outcome for most of the Pits that go there.

You could say that I'm addicted to checking out their latest listings.

I used to be a volunteer for this shelter, and to this day regret not adopting Montana the Saluki. It took *ages* for her to get adoped; she was super mellow, and neither fluffy nor big and tough, so she was always overlooked. Totally awesome dog. Darn hubbie put the kibosh on me bringing her home
