OFFS!

Just had both girls' boosters done, and general health check over. All fine. Then she stamps and signs both cards, of which fillies is all in one book, but mares is a plastic folder with a seperate vaccination card with all her previous dates on. I'm not even sure if the card has my details on, just her markings, and 'stats'! The plastic wallet hold my details. Anyway, I have the plastic wallet, but not the card that slips into it. Feel so stupid for not checking when she gave them back to me, but we were talking and just didn't think. I saw her sign and date them too. It hasn't fallen out, as I had to walk back past several times, and not seen on the floor. I am 99% sure it is in the back of her van, between all the vet boxes and things. I spoke to them on the phone a moment ago and they say they haven't found it after a brief look but both vet and van are now out on another call.
So, what next?

I wouldn't panic yet as it's not exactly gone for good as it stands

Hopefully they will find it later

If it is gone then I guess they will issue a new one and you start again

Always worth keeping photocopies of any important documents too just in case

If it was put in the car then they'll find it. If not, the vet can fill out the vaccination record in the passport (where it really should be anyway) and state that it was all up to date - that's what mine says, even though I still have the old cardboard vaccination record too, as there was no point in the vet rewriting all the dates from 10+ years of vaccinations!

This.

If it has gone the vet needs to write a statement above the vaccination history cntained in the passport along the lines of 'I certify that this is a continuation of previous record which showed all vaccinations having been carried out within the correct timescales'. She then needs to sign & date it.
