Aww thank you so much everyone. She is a real little lively little filly - there's no stopping her and her wandering around. Cloud will have her hands full I can tell you.
Most greys are born a different colour and they grey out slowly. Although you can't see it in the photos, she is actually very very roany and she has a light muzzle and around her eyes. She's just perfect! No scrunched-upness like you often get with newborns.....just perfect!
Sooty, well you know we did this with a bit of trepidation but I am so, so glad we decided to allow her to foal...a total indulgence but one I don't regret.
Cloud is proving to be just like I thought she would be - the most attentive Mum; she was kind and caring from the moment the baby was born and has remained so....not overly silly, but just kindly protective.
She had a big audience last night - all the geldings were standing on the other side of the fence absolutely intrigued! Daddy and his mares came galloping down and he was whickering to her and she whickered back. I don't think Cloud has taken the filly up to see him yet but I'm sure the filly will be awandering over to that field in no time.....she's a bit of a traveller, LOL!!
Just a small reminder of a PM you sent me on 13/04/07, re Cloud foaling...
I quote:
"I would still say she is about 9 or 10 days away."
Impressive or what??!!! You couldn't have got it more right!
I am so pleased that everything went well, and that Megan was there. She must have been absolutely thrilled to watch, and I do hope you took pics of her little face.
