I know a young pony rider who produces young ponies and schools problem ponies. They cannot afford to buy top class ponies etc. They get lessons with an FEI approved coach. Have a well facilitated yard with an arena and hills + hacking space + paddocks. And the rider works hard and usually rides 3 or 4 per day and all ponies are excellently schooled on the flat and always come to a show best turned out, they dont even have a groom. the rider also mucks out, feeds , cleans tack etc + is in a grammar school and does well (a or a* in every subject). Anything they have won or got they have worked for it and feel that people like them deserve the ride on top ponies as they do not take top ponies for granted but appreciate what they have and work to improve the the pony and themselves as combination and can make a pony perform to the best of their potential. I think the smaller person like them should be given a chance!
