If shod, do you think having your horse unshod is cruelty?

Who is your favourite and why?

John for me - I could watch him ride all day. He almost seems to ride by telepathy.

And I was a huuuuge Milton fan as a kid!

John, The Master imho. i've seen him when it's going brilliantly, and i've seen him when it went slightly wrong on a catch ride, (horse stopped at a big upright) and he stayed SO calm and consistent, changed nothing, just came again and the horse jumped beautifully. it was a real WOW moment for me, to have the confidence to not change anything, to trust that what you are doing is right, to come again exactly the same and let the magic work. just amazing.
Michael is amazing too, of course.
i love the way William rides too.

I'm not sure which member of the family I like the best, can I say Milton?

I adored him, such a genuine superstar of a horse.

John, because he started with absolutely nothing, riding milk float ponies bareback and his jumping ponies were bought from markets. Closely followed by Michael for the same reason.

You missed George and Thomas off the list! Both creeping quickly up the ranks - and Jim, who is now making himself known on the pony circuit... Michael's little uns are breaking through in the Tiny Tots classes too... Also Joe Clayton, would be a Whitaker if his mum hadn't married... it's never ending!

As in rider? or person?
They are all a lovely bunch of people - Joe and William are hilarious (quite a double act) and Stephen, Ian (missed off the list too?), John and Michael are all lovely (very laid back) horse people - you know the type that actually understand horses!

As a rider, I think that all of them excel (it's in the genes) but I think that William will outshine as he's so quiet and yet effective

john!! because he's the one that started from the very bottom, made the whitaker name and is still hugely successful today. no doubt they're all talented, but theyve had the help of john on their side, he was the 'original whitaker'!!

Not a great fan of any of them *ducks* I love Tim Stockdale, Corlato is such a super star and of course Nick Skelton,Geoff Billington, Laura Renwick. Although Ellen is great to watch as well.

Definately John I've seen him many times in RL jumping and warming up and he is the most amazing rider ever, so quiet.

but my close 2nd would be William.
