Extremely Old Nag!
When I turned Bea out yesterday with my vet (he had jabbed Tara for me and had breakfast!) she was a complete and utter lunatic, bucking and cantering across with Lacey and we both said 'perhaps not today then'! laughing6.gif There was no sign at all apart from the holes in her teats had opened from the previous evening.
Our hunt supporters were having a garden party thing starting at one and I had purposely not got involved with helping as Bea was due the same day; I'm sure they all thought it was just an excuse to get out of it! :wh:
At noon, she started pacing the field, by 1.40 it was all over and she was up licking her new BOY! We had watched with binoculars from the garden and I hot footed it over there to dress the cord and was greeted with this.
My longed for colt, can't believe how lucky I am but it's thrown me completely as I was expecting a ginger filly who would have been Witchiebago but I am stumped now for a proper name!
This was him yesterday when I went to fetch him in and a few from this morning. Still struggling for a name but he 'might' be Sparks at home as he's quite a feisty chap and my much loved and missed Dad was an electrician.
I don't think he's a bad one to finish my breeding career do you?
