The Worcester Noseband?

Anyone know of it?
It's uses?
Do you have one? Have you used one?

I've tried a Cavesson, a Flash, an English Grackle, a Mexican Grackle and still he pulls down and tries to evade the bit.

I read somewhere that a worcester noseband can stop a horse 'diving on the bit', is this the same as pulling down?

He doesn't bolt but he does throw his head in the air when he's getting stroppy, usually if he has to wait at a junction.
He used to get his tongue over the bit but we seem to have moved on from that.

His back, saddle, and teeth are all fine.

We had one for a naughty pony as I didnt want to keep putting stronger bits in when kids were riding him and he only seemed to get hold of them anyway . the noseband stopped him getting his neck set and just bombing off when he was naughty but meant he could be ridden in a snaffle when he was good as it only came into play when things went wrong. I'd say easy to use ,easy to fit and kind to the horse whilst giving you brakes .

They are quite similar in action to a kineton - they apply pressure to the nose.

Very handy for head tossing and stopping lips from being split. However if a horse overbends when they misbehave the noseband will not help

Hello. I haven't used a worcester noseband I'm afraid but am curious as to how you persuaded him not to attempt to get his tongue over the bit? We have a mare who is constantly trying to do this, so much so that she doesn't concentrate on the fences and runs herself into trouble jumping...

I bought him a mexican grackle - as it is that little bit further up the cheek bones in clamps the jaw shut, he still chews the bit but doesn't get his tongue over the bit.

If i'm honest i think some of it was probably him growing up a bit as well.

Can you tighten the cheek straps any?
He was worst in his driving bridle which couldn't go any smaller, his riding bridle is the next size down which also helps.
