The WORST riding I have EVER done!

Does anyone ever have one of those days when they know their riding is poor, know their horse is moving terribly and get to the point of fits of laughter?!

My niece isn't fantastic at schooling - it doesn't inspire her - but she wants to join the local riding club who do some little dressage competitions etc through the year so printed a few really easy ones off and read them out to her whilst she was schooling today and it really helped her. Her pony is lazy and new, so he's trying her out a bit so it was a bit of a struggle for her but she did really well. It all went wrong when I got on mine...

She wanted to follow, as she's not quite sure about serpentines and loops etc, all basic stuff but it was easier to jump on mine and show her rather than run around the school - or so I thought. I have never ridden a horse so lazy as today! Completely lost my position because she was such hard work to just keep plodding in trot. She kept stopping dead on circles and bucking when I asked her to carry on. My legs and arms were flapping everywhere! Usually I would cry, but instead it was so funny. Anybody else have days like these?!
 
I did frequently when trying new horses to buy! Somehow all my riding ability (which is fairly basic at the best of times!!!) went to pot when riding a horse in front of its owner.

oooh me too! I find searching for new horses awful because of this....

oh dear!

i was riding one of my loan horses today out on a hack and he spooekd at EVERYTHING, a woman, a car, a dog, a tree, a cat and a wall! and he was being really lazy too, we only went out for a walk, but decided to go on the common for a canter and then go home. well, all of a sudden he was full of the joys of spring (well winter) and as i was trotting round all of a sudden he stopped, really sat back on his hocks and leapt into canter! i had really short stirrups too because his owner had ridden him half way round the block but had already walked back to the stables when indie did his 'leap'

i found it rather funny cause after a few strides we showed the dog walkers some lovely flying bucks, half rears and rein back!
