I am moving three horses on Friday looking forward to having the 7 back together again, but DREADING the thought of having to clean, move and relay all the rubber mats, just wondering what others think is the worst bit of moving.

Moving the horse is the easy bit - it's dragging all the other stuff around that's the pain

Definitely that moving of rubber mats. Thats why I have all my stables already kitted out so when my liveries arrive and leave no mats have to be moved or cleaned and I can just jet wash the stable out ready for the next one.

having done it today, yes the bloomin rubber mats are def the worst part of moving! back is killing me and i'm exhausted after hours of lugging and mat cleaning, neddies however are perfectly ok and it only took a total of ten mins to boot, load, travel and put them in new home.

moving to a new yard and finding that there is an arsewipe there who wants to control everyone and rule the roost, totaly puts a downer on things,

Lol wafarerwitch, I like the term arsewipe but know what you mean. I think moving yards is worse than moving house, it's an exhausting and anxious time, and where the hell did all that stuff come from !!

I agree - rubber mats.

I am on the move soon so have cleaned and rolled up my mats ready for the move (I have found it is the easiest way to handle them), it took ages, was the smelliest nastiest job and really hurts your back

mh - definately rolling and tieing with binder twine, it's the only way to go.

rubber mats - hate 'em, hate 'em, hate 'em

Seems we all agree wouldnt be without them but hard work! At least its only 3 stables this time the worst was moving 9 horses and 5 people 3 dogs 10plus rabbits with a months notice, all before Christmas!

Oh no, I am worried about lifting my rubber mats now to do my spring clean of my stable now ponio is out 24/7! They went down last summer and haven't moved since

I moved yards last week and the worst thing is going from somewhere you know inside out to somewhere where you don't know where anything goes, don't know the routine, don't know who's who, don't know how anything works... etc. Every yard is so different.

Also, going back to being 'the new girl' and 'the new horse' on the yard.
