We arrived at the yard today to find the water troughs had been stolen out of the fields, the pipes had been cut through which made it dificult to turn the water off, why would anyone do this? the horses were in the fields and were unharmed but it was apparent they had tried to get some other troughs, they also stole an energiser for the electric fencing, apart from the obvious difficulties of now having to fill buckets and carry them to the fields it is so annoying that we have worked so hard to get our land ready we now have to pay out ££££'s to replace troughs and damaged pipes, Pointless rant, just so fed up!!!!!

Metal tanks?
If so, scrap is getting a good price at present in the SE.
Really sorry to hear of your probs - can you replace with plastic as they are not so appealing to the light fingered bridgade.

Upside - I put 2 knackered car batteries on my drive at home & they were taken overnight - great, saved me from disposing of them!

Sorry this awful thing has happened to you. Check local auctions /farm sales. The thieves might off load them there. I hope you have reported the theft to the Police.

we did report it but don't think there is much they can do, there were footprints but it has rained so much they were of no use, will be looking into local auctions and boot sales next

What complete bar-stewards:( Feel for you. I hope suitable karma is returned upon the selfish tw*ts. I just cannot comprehend how some people think it's ok to just take what others have worked hard for...makes me v angry:-/ I hope your replacements don't cost you too much in money or hassle (&that they remain in situ!)

Sorry to hear this, I'm local to you and have heard of metal ones going but not plastic.
What sort of size are you looking for. I have a big rectangular plastic trough with ball valve fitting that I should really sell as I no longer have my own field. PM me if interested & I can measure it tomorrow. I'm in Warlingham.

we are going to mark them with paint or similar, so fingers crossed they don't come back for another go, I know other people have had much worse happen to them, I was told of one girl who had her stable doors stolen while her horses where in the stables! I am just so fed up as it has taken us so long to get the paddocks fenced and the water piped to individual troughs etc. we work really hard for what we have and it makes me so angry that others think its ok to just take it!

Cement them in underneath, with just enough showing so would be thieves know not to bother. Means you have to soak the last of the water up with a sponge when you clean it & scoop out the rest with a bucket but easier than replacing.
