theft?

I live in South Africa- rug, tack, food, cell phone, sunglasses, jacket, hat. That's just last month.

I literally put my cell down on the fence for two min, to do up my girth, and it was gone. I was the only one riding and there were only two grooms working but neither of them had seen it! Never saw it again.

I would report it to the police but on Monday night two of my friends were pulled over and searched by police as part of a roadblock, only to find their cell phones and wallets missing afterwards.
 
I've asked EVERYONE and looked EVERYWHERE, i left it in my tack trunk in the tack room the night before.. I keep EVERYTHING locked now.. I even locked my bag of treats, it's not that i can't afford to buy treats but it's when i go to get one and there aren't any left.. if someone just told me they used the last of my stuff i wouldn't mind.. i just hate when i go to use something to find it empty or not even there... If you borrow other people's stuff and use the last up - tell someone!.. really there's nothing more annoying than that..
 
i think as long as people have horses there will always be a thief around.
as they know thta tack rugs etc are expensive to buy so they will pinch it to sell on and get some dosh from somewere probably to buy dugs or something..
very annoying.
touch wood ive not had anything stolen.
