How much would she be worth?

*note she is not for sale*

But following a conversation with someone who values their 11 year old hanovarian at 30k because he was placed in a few BDs a few years ago, i laughed!

Delicia is a 9 year old hanovarian mare by Donnerschwee(Donnerhall) x Sao Paulo (see http://ww.sporthorse-data.com/d?i=10546974)

She is pink papered and graded with the British Hanovarian Society. Competing elementary and medium but in low points due to low mileage. A tricky mare but 3 beautiful paces. Nervous on roads but brilliant for off road hacking. No vices.

For insurance purposes she is insured for 12,500. Am i right in this valuation?

I am certainly not qualified to comment, however, from reading all your posts about you and D, she comes across as a pretty fiesty lady, who is by no means everybodies ride/cup of tea esp with the bolting, and the no hacking.

Having said that someone who is a decent competition rider would probably pay good money for her talent, I just think there are probably a lot of horses on the market with her ability but without her hangups.

I have no idea what the market value is for dressage horses is so cant comment on your accuracy.

I'm not an expert but I would probably say around £10 000 mark just cos you say she can be difficult and will not hack on roads- would put all amateurs off so looking at professional market :)

Have a look on BD for dressage horses or Horsequest - that will give you a good idea of the pricing for a dressage horse. Seeing as hacking doesn't often seem to be high on the list of priorities for most dressage riders I wouldn't think the "not hacking alone" is really much of an issue.

I think you are spot on with value. Plus being a mare she is worth that bit more than a gelding. Many dressage horses dislike hacking - they seem to be bred to go round in circles and enjoy it. :)

I think she is vastly over priced and you would be lucky to get £5 for her, but since I'm feeling generous Im willing to take her off your hands for £10:rolleyes::D:D:D

I honestly couldn't comment on her potential market value, but you have a stunning, feisty mare and are very lucky

**undles off looking a shade of unbecoming green**

HAHA £10? excellant, now if only i smoked, that could have paid for a paid of fags and a chocolate bar ;)

No for insurance purposes i like to insure to the value of the horse. I though £12.5k was a good value as she can be more a pros horse but a good competent amuter would do well.

Not that it really matters as she is never for sale. Though i was offered 45k for her at the BHHS gradings...maybe i should have taken it? LOL

She is beautiful and from what I've seen on your other threads just up my street, I've said it before you are really lucky, but then you already know that:rolleyes: As I have said I am useless with suggesting prices, not least because down here pricing is as if we are in a completely different world to the rest of the UK, but whatever she is worth, I suspect to you, she is priceless :D

Cripes, I would have snapped their hand off, that would nearly pay off my mortgage!! You are either already wealthy or mad!

No, i knew the home she would be going to. Hot housed, very questionable training devices used and competed until she would break. That no home for any horse.

It isnt money at any cost :(
