Theraplate experiences?

Yep - my boy really seemed to enjoy it. But it was in an open space in his familiar yard, and he'd watched his buddies have a go first.

When we tried again at Somerford it was placed in the alley at the end of the stables, where he could hear but not see all the other horses, and he was far too distracted and upset to be made to stand still.

I don't know how beneficial it was, but he seemed to enjoy it enough that I'd consider it worthwhile, but the environment had to be right (for him - but he's a worrier!).

We had a demo at riding club. We couldn't put our horses on it for the demo due to insurance issues but the person brought his own pony - who fell asleep despite being in a strange environment on his own. He also encouraged us to lie down on it (after the pony had got off!). I thought I'd hate it but it was strangely relaxing and pleasant. No idea how beneficial it is. I had a torn hamstring at the time and he was adamant it would help but there was a queue of people wanting to try it so I only managed a couple of minutes.

I went on one last year after braking my elbow, was very relaxing.

Chance cob goes on every 6 weeks to help with hoof growth and he also snoozes away on there, you can see his bum jiggle wile on it ;)

My vets had one in for a month, and offered anybody visiting a go on it. I was going to pop Blue on, but she was so boggled by the weighbridge that I thought the Theraplate on top would blow her brain. My vet's opinion was that she has no opinion, but, while she doesn't think it'll do any harm, she doesn't expect to develop a positive opinion.

In the research paper I read, they had to go on it everyday to make a difference to hoof growth, and it is hard to test if the Theraplate made the difference or something else. I have tried it myself for free, felt weird and am super sceptical.

A lady I know has got one, she brought it over for a try, we tried three ponies on it, they all accepted it fairly well.
I stood on it for a while, it felt similar to the Niagra Massage unit I have.
Can't do any harm, why not

This is what I have on it. I’ve just purchased one after seeing good results from just one session per week. 2 of mine have arthritic issues so I use it to help them with that, and the other 1 is as injury prevention. I’ve also got 2 elderly ponies who I’m hoping will benefit from regular treatments. I know there’s a lot of scepticism about anything like this, but I guess the only advice I could give, is to give it a try and judge for yourself?‍♀️

I put Ernie on one monthly. I was sceptical at first but compare the way they walk on to the way they walk off and the difference is obvious.

The immediate effect seems to last a few days for him. He just seems to move so well after it. Some vets will now prescribe it as treatment for swelling.

My horse went for a spa week as I called it, as part of her rehabilitation. I never imagined she would just walk on and tolerate it as she is a sensitive diva lol but she loved it and was falling asleep. She did the water treadmill, vitaplate, think its the same as a theraplate, with solarium too. I can honestly say the difference was massive, she has 6 weekly scans and was due a scan the following week. The improvement in her stifle ligament from her last scan really suprised my vet. She was so much stronger which I think was down to the water treadmill but the stifle ligament had a marked improvement from the previous scan. I had been told 12 to 18 mths for full recovery and at 9 mths it is almost repaired.
I had previously been told by someone who wasnt connected to the centre that one off sessions are pointless and for them to benefit they need to go on every day.
