First dressage of the year. Been working hard all winter. Been washing pony all week. Been up since stupid o'clock plaiting. Trot down centre line and turn left. Spectator barges in through door above us slamming it behind. Pony spooks flat out across arena. Regroup, finish test, bury head in hands. Load pony, slap self around face. Remember there will always be another day ;-(

Aw that sucks I would have sworn at them. Not really supposed to enter the arena once a test has begun. But yes there will always be another day. :)

Oh no fatpony what a pain. Unfortunately you have to put up with these things at shows, annoying as it is. I'm sure all your training throughout the winter will have been worth it when you get properly going again x

I managed just to glare ;-) Its easy to get wrapped up in schooling at home and forget there's always things you can't control at competition.

I might have written this myself so SNAP!! My boy is making some progress at home but first time out in ages, a bitter wind and very over-excited horse made for a scary warm up. I almost didn't do the test as he was leaping and upsetting other horses. The test itself...... The judge's comment "he was having fun today!" says it all.....
Luckily there IS always another day, perhaps not anytime soon.......

I was writing for a dressage judge this weekend, one of the comments was 'well recovered' after horse in question decided to add a little excitement to the test ;)

I had a lost husband wander in and stand by the arena for my whole test. Luckily pony just has a good look and a snort and that was that.....I directed lost man to the stands on the way out.
