My tb has done barefoot in the past and his feet looked good although he still wasn't 100% on a circle. So silly old me had shoes put back on. Biggest mistake! He then went lame again and his feet were a chewed up mess! I got myself a qualified trimmer from the NHCP list and the work began last September. As time has gone on his feet have got stronger but are the most odd shape! But clearly they are functioning well for him as he is now sound on a circle on a sand surface! It's such a relief to know that something is going right. He has been lame since 2010 when he was diagnosed with Navicular in both fronts, bone Spavins in both hocks and mild KS between T 14-16. He is 15 now so I'm not expecting him to be going back doing novice dressage, tbh I think he hated dressage haha!! He is a fun ride boy! If that's what he wants then that's what hel do! He's done me a good service for the last 7 years! Might even sneak in some veteran showing if he's sound enough
. Although they might have something to say about the shape of his feet haha!!
