I want to have a go at a hunter trial, with my 6yo standieX....
I don't do competing, haven't for years, just not motivated by it! However, I picked up the leaflet/booking forms in the tack shop, FOR TWO. What the hell.
I've jumped all of 6 cross poles with her, at home, friends have done more jumping with her. She is quite a hot mare, great fun, hopefully she will go on to do PC etc with a teenager when I sell her *cry*. Again, what is wrong with me.
They are in a month, I really should go and see some solid fences/water at some point. Ho hum. We also need to get a bit fitter, 'we' being the crucial word here, she could do it after being out at grass for a year, me on the other hand, well let's just say I 'wintered well'.
Any-one like to slap me around the face and tell me to stop being so foolish (they do look like fun though, hehe). I'll only do the 2ft3 with her to ease us into things (again 'us' being the key word), than hopefully 'we' can face the dizzy heights of 2ft9 next time haha!
Who else has any planned, how much prep do you plan to do, how much prep should I do?
I've forgotten what it's like to ride a horse that is mentally able to do anything, I'm either starting babies or my retarded beast who has the brain capacity of a gnat, you'd never believe he'd evented and done DR upto adv-med, honestly, whoever attempted eventing with him was brave, or stupid!
