Since my daughter got her pony , about a year ago, I have been encouraging her to help with yard duties, which is limited as she was 5 when she got him and is now 6.

It all fell on deaf ears until last week when she rode him completly independently .... Proud parent picture warning..,,

Sorry :o

But now she is wanting to do everything :), I guess I should be grateful, but water, filling haynets, poo picking , mucking out and tack cleaning is taking hours and hours and hours.

I am glad that at last she wants to get down and dirty, but who knew it would turn out to be such a long slog :D

Any one else wish that they could turn the clock about 5 mins, and that their children could show their interest and bit more gradually ? :)

I can sympathise! I wanted to get my son into horses but when helping me up the yard he took so long with everything, I ended up doing it myself but he has lost interest now anyway. Give her time and she will get better and when she does it will probably be a godsend!
BTW she looks such a sweetie!

I guess she's too young to drop off and pick up 5 hours later after you've done your own thing...? ;-)

I feel your pain though, if I take my 4 year old to the yard I have to be prepared to be there a while longer than usual!

AW thanks vabell, not quite sure what is going on with her hands and his mouth in the first picture though!!!!!!

She even cried tonight, because she was cuddling him and he walked away!!!! The barefaced cheek of the pony :D had to explain it was nothing personal and that he had heard a noise and wanted to investigate lol x
