I went to A&E the following morning after snapping my ACL and was told it was just sprained, a sports therapist also said the same a week later.
It was only when I went to my GP for a sick note for work that she said I needed an MRI and it was found.
Sorry if this has hijacked the OPs thread!
It's fine, I don't mind - I find it very interesting.
I was released on scene by paramedics, even though I said my knee didn't feel right. It kept giving way, so my family took me to A&E the first doctor said it was bruised and I'd be fine in 5-7 days, as the xray showed nothing. I went faint and sick so a 2nd doctor referred me to the fracture clinic who sent me for an MRI and here I am. I have no ACL left, it's completely gone. So thankfully will be having it reconstructed from my hamstring. All very interesting I believe.
You're lucky if you haven't realised yours had gone. My leg was so sore and my lower leg just kept twisting out on place, it was all rather painful and horrid.
