I would try a different approach! My horse always used to sweat alot when travelling (am I mean to the extent I had to use a sweat scraper when we got there!!). To stop this I used NAF Tempralax. Its a brilliant product, just give them 15ml 2 hrs before travelling and it helps prevent the stress reaction of sweating. It is totally legal to compete on, and is not a sedative. The good thing is that you can also wean them off it, just give them smaller amounts each time, and eventually they will stop sweating altogether. Worked a treat for my boy, and I think its only about £20 a bottle..
