Hi guys am goin to order my cairn terrier a thermatex this winter because after I clip him out he feels the cold for a few days. I can't seem to find the specific sizes but the jack Russell sized 'XS' might be best at a guess.

Does anybody have a thermatex for their dog an how do the size guesstimates compare? I wish they'd just publish how many inches long each coat is!

Thanks in advance

Xx

Measure your dog and email them. I have a few for my staffords as they are great when then dogs are soaking. Colin cook also does the thermalux rugs too (!). To give you an idea, a medium is 18" which fits my bitches as they are longer backed than the dog. He is in small which is 16". Hope that helps! Btw, my staffords are breed standard size so not the bigger crosses that most people seem to think are staffords!

Also, while they are great rugs for drying off the best ones are the Mark Todd ones. Waterproof, have a collar which turns up and a large belly cover to keep that clean too. The straps are also long enough to do up properly as found most seem to be made for whippets! And none of my dogs are overweight either!

I love the Thermatex rugs and dog coats, however I've had some coats made for my two, if you can find bobbydogs on facebook have a look, she does all kinds of coats and they are made to measure (at a fraction of the cost of a Thermatex!)

Oh and the towelling ones are brilliant for apres bath/swimming!

My JRT (who is longer legged and stocky), normally wears 16" and fits a small thermatex. The ESS (but she working bred small and kind of stumpy - think Cocker size) had a medium and the Labs had large.
