im thinking of getting a thermatex for winter drying off more efficiently before and after exercise :) anyway i wanted a grey and navy one as thats his colours but does anyone have
any other versions and recommend them?
also IF thermatex summer weight or standard?

I have the thermatex (standard weight I believe) with neck and I love it :). Its brown with pink binding (my mares colours). Its great for drying after riding and competing. The only thing I would recommend it for is as the top layer on stable rug as it will get stuck with straw and it pulls the material. I recommend you get the buckle front and X surcingles as it stays put well with these :)

I am a thermatex fan and have all the grades in my colours Teal and Black
The new one that has the smooth side is good for those little dears who roll in shavings!!!

Thermatex do a standard one and do specify the lighter one so you won't be caught out. Brilliant for drying off, not brilliant as under rugs as they always slip back if used like that. Very hardwearing too although gut wrenching if you have a rug ripper.

There is also same rug with different front fastening - Thermalux (Colin Cook). I have both and you can't tell the difference from looking at the actual rug material.

I have built up quite a collection - have a couple of the hoods, quarter sheet (brilliant), bandages and wraps for my old mare. Even the dogs all have one as well as they are great for cold wet dogs...

i've had my thermatex since is was 16... erhem, i won't say how long i've had it now!! lol! but it's been a fair few years, and still going now!! lol!! highly recommend them. A friend has the mark todd coolex which looks to be of the same quality too.

i have a beige with dark brown binding (my ponys colours) i love it, its so warm its the quilted version so its atleast two layers with stuffing pretty sure this is the one i have >> http://www.thermatex.co.uk/multi-purpose-quilted-wicking-horse-cooler-rugs-654-0.html i love it got it real cheap from badminton'10 its so warm and wicks water of exceptionally quickly although i did foolishly leave it on over night when she had a fresh shavings bed -_- when i got her out in the morning she looked like a shavings monster, you couldnt see one square inch of the rug! i now put a cotton sheet over the top if its not that cold or just use it as a layer under bigger rugs or for traveling to shows (:

my sister has a premier equine one which isnt quilted but is double layer fleece but its doesn't wick too well however she does have a thermotex which is only one layer i think its the 'summer horse rug' one, it really thin but that wicks quicker than mine, hence i steal it an awful lot! :L

they last for years!! mine still looks brand new and it was used all winter as a layer but my YO had had hers for near on 25 years i think and although it has a few nicks in it. its perfectly useable!
