as title - really want to get one for madam and just wondering which would be better. Back person recommends one to keep her back warm (can get stiff) and also to keep her warm at shows, but she's not in a full clip. The picture on the website is unclear - the nordic exercise sheet appears only to be waterproof in front of the saddle...does it somehow fold back? Which one is the best? Thanks xx :)

I think a few people on here use the quarter sheet. The nordic doesnt fold back.

I dont own a thermatex one but I like the look of the quarter sheet and would be tempted to go in that direction.

Best to get a quarter sheet as it attaches to the back girth strap and is easy for someone on the ground to take of at a competition whilst the rider is still mounted. It also stays in place no matter what. Happy shopping:)

I've got the nordic, Its great really easy to take on and off, my mare also gets really stiff too.

The waterproof bit makes it esier to clean from muddy boots etc!

I have the Mark Todd coolex one that wraps around the saddle, think its the same as the nordic but its cheaper. I put mine under the saddle flaps and it velcros at the front. Definately worth a look. I warm up in mine then just undo the velcro and slide it off.

Nat I have a few of theres (waterproof with coolex) and they have been really good, but Im tempted personally on thermatex because the colour schemes! But MT are very easy to on and off

I'm a huge fan of thermatex (and not the imitation ones) although I've never had a 'posh' exercise type rug before. I recently WON :D a Coolex exercise sheet, the wrap around version (from Manage My horse :D) having never seen them before I was really impressed when I unwrapped it. It's waterproof and has thermatex like wicking on the inside. Having not been familar with the coolex range, I even looked on the thermatex website to see if they were in collaboration!

Unfortunately, I can't get to use it as i'm still off games! But it'll come into it's full in the Spring and can be ticked off the list of endless horse things to buy!

I have had a Thermatex Nordic exercise sheet for the last 8-10 years and it is absolutely fab.
It's not clear from the website, but it's waterproof all over, but allows you to undo the waterproof layer and roll it forwards, so you just have the Thermatex layer over their bum. Presume this is if they are working hard and you want to get a bit more air to their quarters.
I really like it, it covers the horse well and is really nice and deep at the sides. Unfortunately I've changed both my saddles to mono flap, so the only way I can use it now is by putting under my stirrup leathers, but it still works fine like that. I wasn't so keen on the quarter sheet, as thought there would be areas behind the saddle the wind and rain could still get in, but I do use it in pretty extreme conditions. ;)

Love my 1/4 sheets too. Just attach to girth straps/ stirrup leathers and forget about it. I was always getting tangled or blown up corners on the wrap around type but maybe just me! ;-)
