Back in March, I bought Ellie a lovely green Thermatex rug - one of the new style, with the smaller squares. I only ever use it as a travel rug, cooler or when she has got very wet/been bathed, so it isnt used as a stable rug.
Like most Thermatexes I have ever seen, it has a tendency to sit back a little around her chest (fine across the withers, but it isnt tight enough to restrict her movement or cause her discomfort. In fact, it fits better than most rugs I have ever tried on her!
Anyway, I would estimate that the rug has probably been used 10-12 times since I bought it, and the other day I noticed that the material has started to strain by the front buckles, tearing in small patches and revealing blue material underneath. There isnt a hole as such, but it is definitely starting to tear.
Should I take it back to the saddlery where I bought it, or is it just standard wear, that will simply need to be repaired when it gets worse? I guess the only reason I'm even asking is because it cost £150 to buy, and you dont really expect a rug of that price to tear so easily...
Here's a pic to show the fit of the rug:
Thanks in advance!
