thermatex rugs

I have a tatty old thermalux and a WB thermocell. The thermocell isn't as thick as the thermalux, which gets loaned out to many shivery horses on my yard. I'd like a new thermalux, rather than the Thermatex, as it has x-surcingles as standard. The thermocell is a beautiful rug and I'd not be without it, looks a million dollars on.

Yep, both mine have thermatex rugs - got them a bit cheaper from the Sports Pony Studbook Society, but they are sports ponies so I didnt mind the logo ! Also got the quarter sheet which is fantastic, easy to put on and keeps the loins and quarters nice and toasty but not sweaty

My oldest thermatex is now 30years old and still going strong. Have just bought one with a neck, and have the leg wraps absolutely would not be without any of them after hunting.

Try lansdown for v v similar that don't 'grow' as they have tape down the back. Both fit beautifully, also have leg wraps and quarter sheets from both - really superb rugs!

Another vote for the Lansdowne. I prefer the buckles on it as they don't slip like the Thermatex if you put another rug over the top. They do seem to be heavier weight than the Thermatex though.

The joy of living in West Wales, we get to go to their sale they have in November....honest to God though you have never seen anything like it! You know in America when they have those big store sales & everyone ques up outside...then the doors open & its hand bags at dawn & no prisioners taken....that is the Thermatex sale to a T lol!! Totally mental, but you do get some really good bargains & its not just rugs they have in the sale either, bridles, saddles, numnahs, bandages etc etc.

Navaho - when is the sale? how do you get to find out about it? presume I have missed it by now :-(

Yep, sadly you missed it it was on the 23rd. I was well chuffed i picked up a £130 Jaguar bridle for £35 It was advertised on a group on Facebook.

Must get on mailing list !! One for next year anyway.... (the rents live in West Wales not a million miles from Cardigan so very happy to combine a visit with the Thermatex sale/ scrum!) Thanks Navaho

No worries, i think its around the same date every year, so if you make a note of it on your calendar you wont forget, id give them a call at the beginning on Nov & then they should be able to give you a definite date then

Had mine 6 years and still looks like new, although i only use it for shows. When i bought mine the sales lady said go down one size. They are a brilliant investment! i havent had any trouble with mine stretching
