I’m posting for a friend that’s not on here!

her horse takes 6ft /6ft 3 depending on the brand. She’s wanting to buy a thermatex but would it be a 6ft or 5’9 she needs?

also what are they like round the shoulders as her horse is very petite but has big shoulders ?

now a question for me!

what are the leg wrap sizes like? My mare wears small and medium in the lemieux stable boots so not sure what size I’d need in thermatex!

My horse takes a 6' 3", which is what I ordered from Thermatex, but it is huge. I should have ordered a size smaller. It is stretchy so there is plenty of give. I like the rug, kept chilly days in winter, but considering how expensive they are, I thought the quality of the fastenings are disappointing.

I've just taken a chance and ordered my guys normal size as they didn't have the summer weight one a size down. I went down two sizes for his quarter sheet as he's funny about flappy things when ridden, and a decent bit of his bum sticks out so hopefully I'll get away with not sizing down on the rug.

My 6'3 mare wears one of the ponies' Thermatexes... It's 5'6! It's very old though so has probably stretched a lot over the years, as well as starting out big. It's the 'classic' Thermatex - I heard for the other types (summer sheets etc.) it's recommended to get normal size? For your friend I'd guess either 5'9 or 6' would be OK. I'd probably go for 5'9, but then my horses all seem to be reasonably narrow.

I tend to go a size down but on narrow horses it can drown them so even smaller sizing can work.

I just missed out on another original thermatex in 6ft3 in the sale... probably not a bad thing as I already have two (one nice, one falling apart for stable use) but I fancied another to layer up. If anyone gets theirs and it doesn’t fit let me know!

I did get some leg wraps and the mixed bag.

My pony is 5'6 and has a 5'6 Thermatex (that's a good 8-9 years old now) - he's chunky built so he does fill it and hasn't stretched much, if at all, as far as I can tell.

Thank you I passed it on to her ?

I ended up getting an original thermatex And the leg wraps in the sale. Regret not getting a quarter sheet now!
What did everyone else get from their sample sale?

I put my 6'6 Thermatex on the new horse yesterday and he takes a 6'9 rug and he's RID. It fit him fine. I dont remember it being too big for my old boy who took a 6'6 rug though and he was ISH!

My tank of a cob is between a 6' and a 6'3", depending on how much space the cut gives around the shoulder. I ordered a 6' Thermatex, and I think I could have gone for the 5'9". They're very stretchy.

Sorry to revive this but I just received my wraps and they are fab. I was a bit concerned about colours being seconds. But the covered ones are a lovely grey/blue and the normal ones are navy/burgundy my smart rug colours. Now feeling even more smug with my bargain ☺️ Waiting on the multi kit still...

Mine arrived and I’m so impressed! My rug is a gorgeous grey with black binding and burgundy straps and my leg wraps are navy with orange binding which look fab.

They are both marked as seconds but I honestly can’t find faults with either of them

not colours I would have personally picked but they look so smart. I really hope they do the blind online sale again as I liked the excitement of not knowing what I was getting haha

Those who managed to order something in the seconds sale... did you get e-mail confirmation of your order? I never got mine though they've taken money from the card.

One order I did and that is the one that’s already arrived. The other I haven’t had an email, money has been taken, I’ve popped an email over this evening chasing a confirmation.

Just bumping this older post…has anyone bought a new Thermatex since the company changed hands? If so is the sizing still the same (and that you generally size down)? Is the quality of he rugs still the same as the original versions?

Thank you!
