Ahhh yes, I've always found with Thermatex's that you need at least a size smaller than the normal rug size your horse takes. Is H's old thermatex in good nick? You'll get a good price for it 2nd hand!

Ive got a coolex and its fab, just as good as thermatex but cheaper. I like the fact that its got surcingles and a fillet string unlike the thermatex.

ive got a thermatex and tbh am not over the moon with it. its not as fab, imo, as people say it is!! and the fastenings are a pain, but it looks nice so thats a positev factor

i have heard a lot of praise for the coolex, so personally, i would give it a try

Love Goddys Coolex, not quite as warm as the thermatexes, but the fit and smartness makes up for it! Really rate them, and had alot of comments about mine. I like the fact you can leave it on as a normal rug, unlike the thermatexes which always slip/undo because the front fastenings/surcingles are crap!!

I own several thermatex's and recently bought a coolex, i wouldn't ever bother with a thermatex again now. The coolex is fabulous fit, finish and as Kat B says, has more conventional fastenings. Would recommend one any day of the week!!

The Aerborn Thermalux IMHO is a better fit and has cross surcingles (stay on better)!
I had mine from their clearance sale (they have one in August & one at Easter) and it cost £45 incl a free matching tail guard.

I was slightly disappointed with my Thermatex too. I heard, too late, that you need a smaller size, so it hangs off the end of the horse a bit!

I also think the fastenings are terrible, considering how expensive it is.

I do need a "going out" rug, so might look at the Coolex now.
