Thetford Forest

Can you park up on any of the fire routes or are there specific places to park and ride? I have only ever been when its an organised ride. A group of us hoping to travel down in the summer.

Also, which is best. Thanks

I always park at Kings forest. Loads of free parking & some fabulous long canters.

There's a big car park at Hockham picnic place if that's any use.

Likewise, Kings Forest. You can ride either side of the road. Another good thing is a lot of endurance riders use it, and you can follow the arrows they spray on the grass for directions! Parking is pretty good, but there are walkers, dogs, kids and bikes for about the first mile, then the rest of it is yours. Some seriously good gallops to be had on the grassy, sandy tracks.

Don't know about horse riding in that area

Do not forget to get your permits and make sure that those parts of the forest are open and are not knee deep in work
