HHO is my happy place (mainly) and so I don't tend to post personal stuff/issues. But things are difficult right now and today has been particularly crappy. I rode before work and Lottie was an angel. After we had finished I got upset at the thoght of starting a day-from-hell at work. So I buried my face in her mane for a bit of a cry. She hates being touched! She does not do touchy feely!! But she stood like a rock and gently snuffled me. She's a softy underneath the grumpiness.

And Mylo is the cutest too. So friendly. So inquisitive and confident.

Feel truly blessed to have them all in my life.

Sorry you're going through a rubbish time. Fair enough if you don't want to share, I sometimes share too much  However its often really helpful, if not for the advise but to off load and put things into perspective.
Horses are a wonderful waste of time and yes i do think they sometimes know don't they!

Have a cyber hug from me anyway x

I spent many years extremely unhappy at work, I was in a senior role which I couldn’t switch off from, I ended up having a breakdown and taking early retirement, it made such a huge difference to my life even though money was much less and I struggled to make ends meet… my advice (not that you have asked🙂) would be to look for another job that you enjoy. I certainly wish I had left a few years before I did and took control of my life

Absolutely on board with Splashgirl45. Life is too short to make yourself ill for someone else's benefit. What did Lottie say? Come and spend more time with me? Take a couple of weeks off to reset and reboot and empty your head. And please, don't think that you can't possibly go off sick. The workplace will always manage.

Thanks everyone. I own and run my own company with a staff team of 9. So finding a new job or taking time off is less straightforward...

Main issue is that I have had 2 bad faith customers in a row who went AWOL owing me ££££££ which I am pursuing legally. But it's expensive and stressful and very time consuming.

The company will survive but only by me making horrible decisions that affect loyal, hardworking, committed staff. So it's hard. And I have slashed my own pay, so eventing is off the table this season. But I do still plan to try and show-jump. I was going to sell up rather than raid life-savings just to keep my horsey hobby going, but my lovely OH would not hear of me selling Lottie. And Mylo has a new inexpensive home lined up. And Felix will hopefully sell in Spring. And this too shall pass! I still have a business and I will rebuild.

I also have a long term exit plan, and am slowly building up a new equestrian business which I love. But it will be a good long while before I can pay the mortgage with that!

I have good advice and support IRL. Im ok. It's just not nice to have to navigate a situation I never dreamed I'd be in, till recently.

Lottie helps, bless her.

That’s different but still very stressful, to be in charge is a difficult job to do and worse if it’s your own company. You still need to take time out for yourself before you crash!! There is only so much your brain can cope with before it decides to shut down. Hope you feel a bit better by putting it out to us and knowing you are not the only one who has gone through similar. Good luck xx
