Thick dandruff

Hi all,

I have a 16 month cob and I have just started noticing some really thick dandruff on legs. It's mainly down towards his feet but gets thinner the further you go up his legs. And it's only on the back ones? It's really horrible to feel and I could sit picking quite big hard lumps out if I wanted to. I wondered if anyone knew what the cause of this would be or at least how to treat it? It's only been over the past week or so that I've noticed it and it's really starting to get quite bad now and not really sure how to go about this. I've thought about putting some E45 on it but if there is something in specific that's causing it then it would obviously be better to get the correct treatment for it.

thanks in advance xx

Mud fever? Try some Pig oil and sulphur powder. My mare gets it on her legs and this stuff clears it right up! don't be shy with it though lag it on if he has thick scabs. Also wash it once a week with antibacterial/fungal shampoo
