We are on the west mids/staffs border and we have had ALOT of things stolen over the years, tonight weve had yet ANOTHER electric fencer stolen, so thieves are about PLEASE TAKE CARE! Its costing me about an extra £500 a year replacing the stolen things, i think its time after 25years to give up horses, its just not funny anymore.
Its a yellow chargerwith a WS4 postcode all over it.

Thieving barstewards all over the place at the moment.

I took my dogs for a walk in the forest today and when I came back to the car park met some women there waiting for the police. The side windows of their car had been smashed in while they'd been walking. There had been nothing to steal in the car but the poor women (in their 50s/60s) probably won't be able to get it fixed before Christmas as all window repair places are closed up. I felt so sorry for them - what a Christmas present!

I now keep ALL my horses' stuff (rugs, the lot) in the house but it seems they'll take anything not nailed down.

Ive got all my horse things in the horse now too, however i wouldnt be surprised if the rugs were nicked off the horses back!

My old yard in Lea Marston was done over with eletric fences in the night- its by the m6 toll sort of staffs/warwickshire border

its a pity- as some of it was mine i had left a friend

Yes, we had 4 energisers & a pile of fence posts stolen last Sunday night.......Warwicks/Staffs border, near to Junction 9 of M42.

looks like the same people then!?

Could be the same people, you seem to hear of alot of thefts at once then it goes quiet for a while.
This one has our post code all over it, it was chained to the fence post, wrapped in barbed wire and had green mesh over it to make it less visible, and it had one of those personal rape alarms on it! Could we do much more?
To make things worse our pony got in with our yearling and gave him a good kicking because the fence was off! Theres not much damage but he was very frightened.

My problem is that have no mains so no security lights, we do have a fake camera but they know by now what it is. Im utterly convinced its the same people every time.
They didnt take the other charger, just pulled out the wires so we cant use it either! THey threw the rape alarm in the water to kill it so that must have gone off.
We havnt had the yearling long and he hasnt been introduced to the pony yet. We put the new ones with our old boy who we can trust not to kick. The pony is a bossy little so and so, thats why they were meant to be seperate.

Sounds like you couldn't have done anymore to have prevented it - thieving scum!

It makes me so wicked - how can people think they can just take what isn't theirs

I really, really would love to catch them in the act

I will keep a look out.

can you put up more permanent fencing?
or maybe use a dummy battery and old broken fencer so they nick that but the real unit and battery are hidden ?

It's a pity you can't put a metal box around it and have it connected to the mains!

If only i had mains!!!
The boundry fence is a mix of thick hedge and post and rail, its the fences that divide it into 4 that are electric. If it was mine i would have swopped it for post and rail but we rent it, i dont want to put loads of nice fences up, then he decides he wants it back.

This one was a bright yellow FENCEMAN CP250 and has our WS4 postcode all over it. in fact there are several around somewhere with our postcode! trouble is now we havnt got one to use as they broke the other one. That was painted green so i suppose they thought it was no use to them.

Where could i get a mini tracker?????????
