Anyone near there? Superthin horse in a field caught my eye whilst driving today. At a glance the others looked ok, and at the next gateway we could see loads of grass (not sure if same field).
Would report it myself if I'dhad a better look, but don't like to cause trouble if obviously well looked after and just old or something.
Anyone nearby to take a closer look?

Hmmm. My parents live quite near that area and if no-one else steps forward I'm willing to ask them the favour of driving past that way. They are not particularly horsey however and if someone with more equine knowledge is out there I'd prefer them to look too.

Do you have any better directions for location? I know the pub is on a roundabout with 3 entries/exits - Birdlip, Brockworth or Cheltenham. Is the field next to the pub i.e in the stretch of land between Birdlip and Brockworth routes?

Could be worth a call to a welfare charity anyway. If they have operatives in that area they could do a simple check and it would help your peace of mind.

If its with others who are up to weight and grass nearby it could be that the horse has just been rescued/bought?
My tb was extremely thin when i bought her and it took a little while for the weight to come on.
Good to do the chks though just incase :)

Yes, thats why i'm not keen to ring anyone straight away. If you take the Swindon road from the roundabout, it is the second gateway on the right. Literally 200 yds.
The horse wasn't just a bit thin, it was a proper hatrack. I have poor eyesight and it could be the others weren't that great, but that horse definetly was sunken all over with every rib showing.

I have seen this said horse and we drive by often and I think its been recently bought and is been putting weight on as I have never seen it out there before and as you have said the others ae a good weight. If I don't see any improvement however in the next couple of months I may think about calling someone.

I'm too far away to be of any help, but I'm glad that a sensible approach is being taken here to make sure the horse is being cared for before a load of trouble is caused - we've all read the comments on here "my 90yo TB has been reported to the rspca for not wearing a rug" etc.

So hats of and a round applause to vicijp and spacefaer and others for doing what they can first
