Can anyone recommend any thin reins? My hands are too small and cant cope with normal reins and gloves! And I lose my grip with no gloves.... so need your help please?
What kind of reins do you have at the moment? I don't get on with normal rubber reins cos I find them too thick, but I really like my bio-grip copies. They are quite thin and really flexible. Alternatively I use 5/8" laced reins for flatwork which are also really easy on the hands.
erm, lots of places sell them - shop around to get the best price. (if you google MacWets, make sure you include 'riding gloves' cos they also make gloves for golf which take up a few pages of results!)
There are some on eBay at the mo which are probably as cheap as I've seen anywhere else.
My laced reins are several years old and really smooth now, but agree you have to go through a bit of pain to get to that stage! Lots of leather balm helps
I generally steal the curb rein off a double bridle when I want a thin rein. I like smooth leather for flatwork, schooling etc but I wouldn't recommend it for the rainas they can get slippy!
I like the really thin, super bendy Jefries rubber reins. If you were wanting a thin depth as well as width, then a curb rein as said would work.
Heather Moffett has just released a new bridle range and I know they are making super thin, soft and grippy reins. http://www.enlightenedequitation.com/

You could try the rubber lined dressage reins. They will give you the advantage of still having good grip but without the bulk of rubber reins.

Agree. I use them for all disciplines and never found a problem with grip. I cant stand the thick rubber reins.
I also use a pair of Mac Wet gloves which are the best thing since sliced bread.
Another vote for dressage reins. I have really small hands and they are great, quite thin but good grip. I get mine from CotswoldSJ on here, really good value.
