MY previous post: Lame for 2 months suggested MRI cant afford....
SOME GOOD NEWS!!
After being unhappy with the yard i was at for a while i finally found him the perfect home and have just started with a new farrier who has given me hope! I have noticed an improvement over the last 2 weeks in his lameness.
He spoke to my vet and he said vet made him think the worst. When he came out he said his feet wernt as bad as he thought and that he thinks the lameness is soft tissue damage, hoof tested etc. Ruled out a tendon woo!
Due to Thomas being ex race he said he has been shod very young and it hasnt done him any good. So his approach is too take shoes off for a month to harden feet, basically starting again. He had that done yesterday and he seems to be coping well. Was so impressed with the farrier, absolutly fantastic and really took me and the horse into account. I have all the time in the world to get Thomas better 2 months or 2 years, as long as he becomes painless im happy. So finally a glimps of hope! plus he now has the most amazing corner box, with an open window at the side for him to look out of!!
If anyone has any ideas of how i can entertain him in his box to prevent bordem i would love to hear of it! Today tried hiding apple and carrot round his box and he cleared it in seconds!!
Thanks for everyones support and i will keep you posted! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Love Kat and Thomas!
