I am about to embark upon a study of terminology/conditions/symptoms within the horsey world that may be misinterpreted by non-horsey folk. If anyone can add suggestions here, I would be most grateful!
Examples include things like a 'double bridle' - I was once asked how and why a horse had to wear two bridles at once! And laminitis - a school friend of mine once looked at a pic of a laminitic pony and said 'oh, sweet, someone's taught him to do the splits!'
And a friend of my brothers picked up a snaffle and said, 'hey cool! you horsey people use handcuffs!!'
If you get the idea....
