dont know if there's already a thread like this but i was looking at horses for sale and it really bugs me when you have those adverts that write like the horse is speaking. even if it looked a nice horse, i wouldnt try it , let alone buy it!

what sort of things 'bug' you?

Adverts that warn against timewasters. It really puts me off ringing in case they even think a phone call wastes their time.

haha all the gear and no idea comes to mind, know a few of those!! I cant stand arrogant pushy parents, you know, the sort that bitch about EVERYTHING and constantly moan when their darling little pony isnt doing what it is supposed to do and they blame everything on everyone else and are rude to stewards etc...

:D None of those bother me at all.

I am going to look at the horse.
I don't care whether they live in a palace or a junkyard, what they dress like, put on the horse, what they do, think or say. It makes absolutely zero difference, if I like I will buy it, if I don't I won't.

People that assume the yellow pony was ready made when they see him doing well. No I have worked blimmin hard to get him where he is just becase he looks easy now it doesnt mean he has always been.

Words like "stunning" or "flashy". went to see a "very flashy chestnut section D" last year. he was ok, but fairly ordinary as section Ds go.

I love "translating" adds: Needs schooling = uncontrollable, Not a novice ride - psycho, good to shoe, box and clip = you can't catch it. etc.

In adverts, exaggerated heights. Don't guess at the height if you are selling, but get an accurate measurement.
POA also annoys me somewhat.

I went to see a horse once that had "A lovely temperament". It was chained up in the stable and striking out with its front legs. I left straight away, but the woman followed me saying "he's lovely to ride". Yeah, right. He may well have been, but I didn't fancy taking any chances after her temperament description.;)

POA probably just means that if people who know them find out how much they are going to ask for it they will be flabbergasted, or it just means its hideously expensive.

I did see a couple of fab misprints though: One said "Has one rosette" and the other "Chestnut stallion with 3 white cocks" - probably fertile then....

I also hate the 'First to see will buy'..the adverts still running two months later, so nobody even came to see it then? Then an updated ad appears, 'Still for Sale due to Complete Time Wasters'........so someone did come and see it then, and even got it vetted...and it failed?:p

When threads go on for page after page after page saying the exact same thing. I think we read it the first time.

Adverts that don't have name, age, breed, height or anything useful (Not that I'm looking to buy anything, I just like looking)

When people ride fully tacked up with hat, body protector etc...then ride bareback with a headcollar, wearing sandals. It doesn't make sense to me.
