Things that you SHOULDN'T do...

Curb chain too tight
Dismounting with one foot still in a stirrup
Riding with a ipod or mp3 player
Polos wrapped incorrectly
Boots on the wrong legs
Girth too loose
Girth too far back
Riding too closely to another horse
Unannouncing direction changes
Tying a horse by their reins
Lunging without the reins knotted up

i would have thought they would want the more subtle things to happen so things like hat on back to front or sitting on the horse back to front might be too obvious!

not checking the grith before getting on, getting on from the wrong side. if you have to put boots on then sit on the floor, if they are watching you tack up and you have to use a martingale then put it on after doing the saddle up, etc.

dont' do up the nose band/throat lash or do it up too loose/too tight.
slouch, if she then tells you to sit up straight then sit bolt upright.
reins too short/too long.
if the 'group' is more experienced then you can do the wrong diagonal when trotting or the wrong canter lead.
maybe 'flop''/loll about on the horse when walking.
hold the reins with one hand
maybe get a phonecall during the lecture?

Polos wrapped incorrectly

I just tend to scrunch the foil end over .... no wonder they all end up in my pockets covered in hay or floating about in my washing machine ! I'd never realised there was a correct method for wrapping my polos !!

(only teasing) x

Have to say I wouldn't be doing any of the suggestions, e.g saddle too far back, curb chain too tigh, crumpled numnah, that would be causing the horse any discomfort..

In regards to mounting/dismounting on the 'wrong' side, I have always thought this would be quite a good thing to do. I mean there is no *actual* reason we mount on the left (unless you are in the horse mounted military perhaps) and that it was good for your horse to be used to it in case you couldn't mount on the correct side for whatever reason.

Also, I bought a really green mare once (stupidly actually) and she would go mental if you mounted on the correct side but was fine if you mounted incorrectly. It does feel weird though...!

You could go for cropped jeans and trainers - with laces undone , and what about a big pair of Pat Butcher earings? You could go blind drunk and then you def wouldn't be able to do anything right anyway Lol . x

no hoddie or trackies?

i always ride in a hoodie and trackies!!!.... and have my hair loose (and hat loose)

mabey i shold just come ride the horse in my normal state? :D :D lol

Upside down spurs (and perhgaps trainers)
Saddle too far forward (seen this more often than too far back)
Toes out at a right angles, same with elbows
Nodding head in trot
Wrong diagonal and wrong leg
Flapping legs, pony club kicks
Screech "GET ON" if he looks like refusing a jump.....

LOL

No martingale stops (I remember being Bo88ocked for this at PC camp.... I couldnt get the blumming things back on the reins!!
Reins placed on wrong ring of bit, no use of bit rings, on certain bits of course
Ill fitting saddle cloth/numnah

I'd suggest having one stirrup leather a foot longer than the other.............

Forget to do up throat lash? (I have done this once (lol!)and when i realised stopped horse, got him to turn his head and did it up before continuing the hack!) - had to stretch forward quite a bit but managed it!

Twisted reins...... or forget to do up the buckle? They'd be like mega short Western Reins then!! Or if horse is good, ditch the bridle all together and ride in head collar with 2 lead ropes attached......?
