I leave a heavyweight turnout rug on in the stable - keeps horse warm and dry.
Deep litter on Bliss bedding and by the end of the week the bed is dry but rather "brown" LOL.
I feed adlib hay, which means that I make sure my horse always has enough hay to last him right through the night and morning. To others it looks like I feed mountains of hay but my horse gets most of his forage that way, isn't on much hard feed, and likes his hay! It drives me nuts to see empty haynets in the morning.
I don't turn out in winter if the weather is foul or if the ground is very frozen as my horse hates it, gets bored and injures himself.
I do try to ride 6 days a week if at all possible, and if my horse has been in I hand walk as well as ride (we don't have a walker).
