Things you have found in your hay

I've found a squished hen.....wondered what the smell was! lol My god, I nearly keeled over. I've also found parts of the hay baler from time to time too!

my friend found a playmate magazine :o ...

and I've heard of a flattened cat before.

Only things I have found are a sock and a contact card for trailer hire (pherhaps advertising!)

Have found snakes, mice, rats, rubbish.....
Recently opened a bale when haying a friends horse and an enormous bone fell out, like the size of a humans arm or lower leg! I freaked out rather a lot and started having wild visions of a murder having happened on the farm, the rest of the body being in the other bales etc. Went to find the farmer but fortunately bumped into a fellow livery on the way who looked and told me it was a dog bone and that the farmers dogs often leave them around the farm. Thank goodness he would have though I was mental if I had found him and shown him my evidence lol! I am known for my over active imagination!!

My mobile phone.

I lost it while riding in the fields, only to get it back mangled in a hay bale

quite impressive I thought as it was a large livery yard and I just happened to get that bale.

Various dog toys are the norm. We make hay in a 'public' dog walking area. Eventually found the tractor tool box in the old silage clamp about 5 years after it came off the tractor during silage making.

Bits of machinery, various squashed dead animals, drinks cans...

So far this year, a glove, a tea towel, kids teddy bear and random bit of cloth. My fields are not public, but I think this is from next doors kids crawling thru the hedge and playing in the summer.

A very dead and droed up grasssnake in a bale of hay last year just after the new crop had arrived.Scary at first and then had a laugh showing everyone. It was just as well i found the snake as a few of the girls would have freaked out.(i can manage spiders lol)

We opened up a bale of haylage today, that was home made and cut but bailed by a local farmer, and it had an opened up, very sharp, 4in stanley knife in it. A really nice knife! Luckily we found it before it got scooped up in an armful for the horses. I am guessing the bailing guy dropped it without noticing.

There has always been the usual - animals, plastic bags, lots of sticks, and once or twice a prong from the hay spinner ...

Just last week we got an enormous black vibrator! Worst thing is the yard terrier is still running around with it. Gulp...
