Cheesy post. Obviously we all think our horses are wonderful and we love them dearly, but what are the little things that just make you mushy?
I, for instance, adore how PF is always interested in what´s going on around her; her ears are always pricked. I love her 'Lara Croft' "yeah yeah, I know" attitude despite her fear of plastic bags. I love her beady eyes and the way her muzzle looks like it´s been dipped in soot. I love that she watches where I am and what I´m doing although she´s not affectionate AT ALL and that she trusts me and (I think) loves me.
I love that Antifaz is so snuggly and affectionate. I love that he always tries for me and has stopped trying to hurt me, I love the way he looks like he´s put too much makeup on his left eye and his eyelashes on that side are white. And I love that he doesn´t worry any more that I´m going to hurt him...

I could go to town on this one....but I'll just say a few words...

I love the way Chloe absolutely loves jumping - she flies for them, and she's good at it. I love the way I don't have to do striding because she can get herself out of a pickle if it's wrong, and still clears the jumps. I love her attitude to jumping - she bombs towards them, but then flicks her ears back because she concentrates terrible hard. She looks grumpy but she is just concentrating mid jump! Love her character - she's so honest - she doesn't KNOW how to be mean...she doesn't know how to put in dirty stops...and she doesn't know how to buck... Love her attitude to everything actually....

April...

is grouchy but secretly loves a head massage and a hug
can take or leave being groomed but loves her mane being played with and being 'arranged'
stands stock still to be plaited as she knows it means a show and lowers her head down so i can do the forelock
laugh.gif

loves being praised
loves posing at shows
thinks she know best at ALL times
but trusts me now
gets a bit loopy jumping as she gets so over excited
is older and i think i have made her life fun again after her first retirement (for bad behaviour
shocked.gif
lol)

And best of all because she used to hate people and was a terror to catch and handle but now she comes straight down from the field when she sees me.... and I can do anything with her AWWwww

I love that Gem is just so weird. I love her 'specialness.' I love that she is a challenge, because when you crack her, it is the most wonderful feeling and you relaise the hard work you put in was all worth it. I love her attitude to jumping, she lives for it. I love that she can now trust people again since being in my care. I love her wiggly lips and wonky nose. I love how similar we both are; firey, stubborn, opinionated, it can either work really well, or be disasterous

ETA. I love how un spooky she is. A feed bag can fly up and get stuck between her legs, and she won't even bat an eyelid

He is a gentleman on the ground (provided you aren't pulling his mane or injecting him) but point him xc and you know he will jump, he took me round some scarey courses and hopefully will again this year!

aww this is a lovely post

I love the fact that I can completely trust Murphy enough to put anyone on him. He will happily plod round with someone who has never been on a horse before, he'll be a lead rein pony for a two year old little girl, my OH who has never ridden before can hop on and canter round and jump him, and Murphy just adapts to whoever is there.

I love the way he ignores me when I get really nervous out hacking, and sometimes he just seems to take over as if to say "look, you're fine, we can do this".

I love the fact he tests me just enough to build my confidence, but never too much, and he puts up with all my apalling riding and my mistakes.

And I love the way he makes me laugh every single day. he's such a character. And I love it when he rests his head on my shoulder and snuffles my ear, and when he puts his nose up to my face for a kiss.

Ellie is lovely in the way she will come and ask you for a scratch! She will stand in front of you and step as close as possible, pushing her shoulder towards you for you to scratch (and she will scratch your back in return!) she will then move forwards for you to scratch her bum, and almost falls over she relaxes so much!

Plus she is soooo sweet when she eats her Likits; her face looks orgasmic!

I also love the way her little ears are pricked when we're out on a hack, and the fact that she loves taking the lead in deciding where top go!

I love about my youngster:

his good looks
the way he often drops behind me when being led and touches his nose between my shoulder-blades
his forward-going 'what's round this corner/over this hill?' attitude
the way he picks up his bucket when he's finished his feed and turns it over just in case there's a bit underneath ...
the way he loves Eat Natural almond and yoghurt bars
the way he comes to my call
his incurable fear of shiny puddles - makes me laugh

Jasper - the fact that if I say it is OK, then whatever it is, is fine by him
Emerald - she will hear me say it is OK, but has a mind of her own.

They are so similar, both so affectionate and uncomplicated

Aw what a nice post.

Things I love about Dibbs -

He will go as fast, or as ploddy as you want.
He won't refuse a jump, no matter how badly you put him at it.
He recognises me and calls me when I come round the corner.
He answers to 'monkey' lol.
He knocks less jumps down with me than with more experienced riders
smile.gif

He isn't phased by lorries, motorbikes, road signs, plastic bags, tarpaulins, workmen etc but will panic at a coke can in the road.
He has that extra bit of spark that sets him apart from your average Bob Cob.
He's got blue eyes.
He's gorgeous

His smart colours
His full on attitude to life - to hell with taking life on the middle road!
Playing silly games with my jacket toggles, with water etc.
His moodiness and 'no suffering of fools'
The way he loves me more than anyone else ........

Things i love about Henry...
-He's such a trier, only wants to please
-Unbelievably honest
-ears are pricked 24/7
-he makes me laugh
-huge personality
-very effectionate
-forgiving to the wally on top!
-forward going and lots of fun!!!

Although i recon i could find an equally long list of the things that drive me crazy about him! lol

I love Nelly because -

She looks after me when we are out hacking
She is cheeky but never, ever nasty
She always lifts her head up and whickers when she sees me
She loves cuddles and being fussed over
She's got beautiful grey dapples and a pretty little face

All of which makes her simply the best pony in the world (in my opinion, of course!)

I loved my old chestnut TB boy because:
- he was my first Horse
- had the kindest face in the world
-sucked polos
-taught me HEAPS
-wasnt a whimpy TB, lived out on a welsh mountain
-turned his hoof to pretty much anything, but would more often than not ask "why?" first!
-was nice to everyone, horses and people alike

I love my share horse because:
-hes called Boris (which i think is a brilliant name for a horse)
- hes pink!! (well strawberry roan)
- he's huge, but so gentle
- he loves cuddles, but not kisses
- we have finally come to an understanding that leg on means, shift your ass the first time, not the third!
- hes great fun out hacking and although really rather speedy you never feel unsafe on him!!

I love the way my boy has given me some confidence and that when I ride and want to canter he's up for it but he seems to know that my son only wants to walk as he is nervous and he will only walk even if other horses are trotting or even cantering past him out in the field. I trust him completely as in 3 years he has never done anything to worry me even when we nearly got hit by a car and we were both shaken up. He's the best
grin.gif

I love the way my mare puts her head over the door with likit all over her lips wich makes her look like shes got lipstick on!
Love the faces she pulls as if shes talking to you.
Love the fact that shes mine and I know she'l always be loved.. think she loves it too!
smile.gif

What a nice thread!

I love Tobago because he is so sweet and affectionate, so incredibly beautiful, so alert and lively and bouncy, so happy and optimistic, so playful and inquisitive and funny - and has such an inordinately high opinion of himself!

I love the way he can be a big important macho stallion one minute, and then a playful baby the next minute, chasing a leaf around the school and pouncing on it like a kitten, playing daft games with his horseball in the stable, trying to climb onto the roof of the field-shelter, just to see what's up there....

I love the way he so transparent and broadcasts every emotion. I love his shameless attention-seeking and even his drama-queen tendencies - never seen a horse manage to make such an almighty fuss and song-and-dance about nothing! I love his phenomenal energy, the way he gallops until he's dripping with sweat, then catches his breath and charges off again, trying to break the land-speed record, or practising his handbrake turns...

I could go on and on - basically I love everything about him!

I love everything about my pony. I love his sweet face and that he looks like he is always smiling, I love his gentle nature and that despite being only 5 he is so brave in traffic and so willing to learn and I love his independent pony personality and how expressive he is. He is cuddly as well, I love that he is small at 14h so easy to get on and off and that he is a NF so I can compete on him. He is just the best pony ever and as an adult I will never grow out of him.

>His loving, kind and trusting temperament

>His belief that he really does know best but will humour my often insane requests- like lunging...what's that all about?!!!

>His mini strops and sulks when he doesn't want to do something

>His "life is all about good food, cuddles and loadsa fun!" attitude to life

>His cuddly moments

> The fact that he's just so darned cute

>His stunning looks and paces

>His facial expressions if he tastes something horrible

>His posey, show off stance when he knows he's being watched (think Donkey from Shrek doing his noble steed act)

>The fact that he'd do anything for me and more but god help a horse that just looks at him the wrong way or who deigns to approach his human!
grin.gif

I love Touchy's facial expressions and her ears!
I love Sovereign affection and his ability to make me feel like an elegant rider (even though I am not!)
And I love the way Emerald thinks I actually belong to him as a pet!
grin.gif

All three of them are completely different but such lovely personalities.

Not cheesy, just lovely. I could go on all day about my lot. I love my old coloured boy because he loves me and everyone else thinks he's miserable. My old mares because I had so much fun with them when they were young, my Arabs because they are so beautiful and intelligent, my little Welshies because they are so funny and want to play all the time, even our old tb who belongs to my husband and has no personality (the horse that is) because I keep trying to get some response from him other than a disgusted look down his aristocratic long nose, could go on and on, but I love them all because they are my family.

This thread is great.
smile.gif

Amber is sucha beautiful colour, with such a pretty face, the fac that she is bomb proof in traffic and will hack out just with me, but also is a spook monster and jumps at things like odd looking sheep.
smile.gif
The fact that she is so forward going but will wait for her slower friend. That she hangs over the wall for a scratch when I get home from work. That she plays with my coat and anything left in her box.

Nelly was a character and a half and would kiss and cuddle all day, spill water down you, be a pig on hacks but relied on her friend. She did not believe that she belonged to me, rather that I belonged to her.

Love this one! And couldn't help noticing that a) you are new, so Welcome! and b) you have Arabs - do tell more about them!

ahhh this is making me miss my boy who's on loan! things I love about him:

The way he quivers his bottom lip if I shout at him to behave
The way he puts his head in my boobs if he hasn't seen me for ages (I know it's odd but it's funny!
The way he follows me around like a dog on the yard

Making me quite sad thinking about it.....lovely post though x

Frankie is very honest, and will really try to do anything you ask. it might take him a few attempts, but he still gives it a go

he has a very cute face

he is sometimes spooky (which can be a bad thing!
mad.gif
) but he does look to me to help him out

he runs to the gate when I call him and he whinnes

I love my ponios honesty, and the way he thinks he a nippy little pony rather than a 16.3hh carthorse!
He pretends to be a grumpy sod, but he loves being ridden, his ears are always pricked!
I also love how well behaved he is for people he knows arent confident, like my mum, he follows her round as quiet as a lamb!
His personality, he is so cheeky, everyone that knows him loves him!
I could go on about him all day, there are very few (if any) things that i dont like about him!!
