... but are funny really ?

I have an electric bed. The control lives hooked on the side. In the morning the dogs all like to come in and say hello and have a head rub and a fuss, which is lovely, but can you see where this is going? ?

One in particular likes to get a good lean on the side of the bed. Where the control is. It can be surprisingly hard to shift 40-odd kg of Grottweiler when you're being clamed up in a bed ???

Just as I am trying to stuff haynets in the morning my terrier attacks the bales - with full on ferocity and intention. No idea why!! He doesn't do it in the evenings but having a 17 kilo dog hurling itself at the bale repeatedly, attacking from every side and on top whilst I am blearily trying to fill haynets is not 'terribly handy'!! I do laugh at him though...

Ours tend to be the other way round; hilarious at the time, until we decide that we shouldn't have laughed - they think we approve.

Like 'mop-surfing', when the Rotters were babies learning about house training, they both loved to play with the mop, when we were cleaning up accidents. We thought they were hilarious. It's not so funny when an adult Rottweiler wants to 'help' with sweeping the yard, or digging the garden, or indeed mopping the floor, or even using the vacuum cleaner.

It was very funny yesterday morning watching our 2 yr old Labs playing with the 5 month old pup that we provide doggy day-care for. They were running round and round the big haybale which is open in our yard, then they fell in a trug of water that had some plants in it- that was rather smelly and the adult dogs were jumping on and off the haybale, too. When we were sorting out hay for the horses yesterday afternoon, we found all sorts of dog toys buried in the hay that had fallen off the bale- it was not quite so amusing at that stage!

Usually, at the moment, a toy or puppy foot in my face as I'm sleeping. The puppy doesnt sleep on the bed but jumps up in the morning and casually likes to place a toy on my face or casually just lay over my head, neck or face and watch me so when i open an eye to look at her, the tail starts wagging and i get a little kiss.
At the time i think i am going to kill her for waking me up but its very sweet really and it does make me laugh. Its like she is saying "oh, your awake, I hope i didnt wake you" :)
